Next rifle for daughter?

Are the youth model stock and the full size stocks interchangeable on any of the rifles mentioned? By the time the young lady is 18, she could be anywhere from 5' tall to 6 ' tall. A new stock would be a cheap,easy upgrade if and when she outgrows the youth model. The 7mm-08 is an outstanding round. So is the 6.5-55 Swede.

That is one thing that interests me about this rifle....

As far as suggestions, I'm in the Marlin camp too. Shoot it now with youth stock, swap later as she grows?

You might also check out the Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Compact. They come in 7mm-08 with a 13" LOP and weigh in at 6 1/2 lbs.

I'm with Dr T. I have one of the lil Ruger compacts-mine in .308. I use it (with reduced loads) for my grandkids as well as for ME! It has a short LOP, short action, rather lightweight, short enough to use in a blind, etc. Should work out ok for kids. I think your caliber choice is a good one.
