I keep wanting to do an SBR and some cans but it seems so expensive to get setup correctly.

Anyone here have first hand experience setting up their NFA Trust themselves? Last I checked it's about $500 to have an attorney do it for you. Something that you should 100% do or is it simple enough to save the money and do yourself? Reading so many mixed reviews!

Thanks!

Where are you located? I wouldn't pay more than $300. I looked around and only got quotes for about $600, but keep asking. I tried to setup mine, but ended up having it done by a lawyer for $300 because I didn't trust it.

Here in Florida, my cost was $150 and took 45 minutes to prepare. I just got my first "can" last week. Took close to 4 months for approval.

Getting ready to have a Silencerco-45 "Osprey" in jail for my H&K USP45. Hope the approval comes around Christmas. It will be a very nice present to myself.

Rats, I can't help you there, but I can almost guarantee you can find cheaper than $500. Maybe check around for local forums?

Have you checked out the NFA Forum here? We have several good threads on that topic, including this one:

And there are a few other recent threads as well...

$500 can be a good deal or a bad deal depending on the level of personal attention you are receiving and the customization and estate planning you require. If you'll read that thread linked above, it helps give you an idea of what to expect in terms of cost and service.
