The People's Republic of Massachusetts makes it difficult to get concealed carry for nonstate residents. They charge you an ANNUAL fee -- I believe its about $150. So, for the shooter who occassionally wants to shoot in Mass, it don't pay.....
Actually Mass offers two different Non resident licenses. One is a LTC class B for high capacity long guns, and handguns that hold less than 10rds. The other LTC is a class A which allows all high capacity firearms. A non resident can also apply for a unrestricted "All lawful purpose" Class A LTC which allows CCW, though these are more sparingly issued. All non resident LTCs are issued for one year or two if carrying a firearm pertains to one job. The cost is the same as a resident license, $100. It depends on how often one comes to the Commonwealth to shoot to determine if the LTC is worth getting.
