This animal ran almost right to me, wind was ripping pretty good, so he couldn't hear me, and likely my scent was just as elusive. I was coming down an ATV/logging trail on foot, I had been taking images of beaver working on their lodge about a quarter of a mile from this spot.
He crested the little hill, stopped, scented the air, looked right at me, and bolted right back into the forest(Chequemagon national forest)from where he came, stopped again, stood up and played peek-a-boo with me for about ten minutes or so. Images may not be in exact order, the last one I processed into B/W for improved contrast.
