Here is the first blood on my 1959 Marlin 336 in 35Remington. A nice SW Florida sow. Winchester 200gr ammo did it's magic. Hit it perfectly in the neck and needless to say it didn't take much more than a quick clip with the shears to cut the vertebra. Bang Flop.
A friend of mine and myself were in a 2 man stand up 20' with the wind clocking at about 15-20 mph when this pig and 2 others walked right under us to get to the feeder. They went to the feeder but came back towards us and started to look a little skittish. I was afraid they were going to get out of there so he chose his and I chose this one. On the count of 3 we took our shots which were about 10 yards from the stand.
She weighed in at 240 on the new scale but I think it was off. She was probably closer to 160ish but the fatest wild pig I had ever seen. She had an inch of bacon on her and meaty ribs which is very rare down here on wild boars.
Having Hawaiian based marinated pork loin tomorrow night and the rest in the freezer waiting to smoke a ham and shoulder for the UF-FSU game. It is a lot of meat.

Ding Ding DINNERTIME!

Good shooting, congratulations. The .35 Rem works very well on many different types of game.
