My boss from work took me out to the range for the first time on sat. Had a freaking sweet time, and got to shoot the best gun I have ever shot. He had a Weatherby Mark V Accumark with a 29in Shillen bull barrel, Shillen trigger, mounted was a Burris Black Diamond 6x24 scope, the gun was chambered in .338/378 WBY MAG.

Let me just say this thing is like sex packaged in a gun. I only fired 2 rounds, but put them in a group smaller than a dime at 100 yards with some pretty heavy wind and a bad mirage. The gun had moderate kick, considering it had a bull barrel and H-S Precision stock. If in a lighter configuration, I probably would not shoot it.

I knew this gun had some serious power, but I was shocked when he told me the numbers. Something like 3500FPS with a 250gr bullet with something in the area of 5000 FT LBS of energy at the muzzle. I was in awe. This thing is hotter than a .338 Lapua.

This thing literally stopped everyone from shooting when it was let loose. I think I have been bitten by the big bore bug!

Oh yeah, he was chrono'ing his new .500 S&W rounds and he was on paper at 100 yards. I had never seen a .500 S&W in action, but when offered, I declined to shoot it. That thing is a freaking hand howitzer.

If my boss manages to read this, thanks for a great time. Really left an impression on me! :)

Is your boss accepting resumes? If I get to go shooting, I'm flexible about the other, smaller, details of the job. ;-)

heh, nothing special. I do tech support for a very large computer company. It just so happens that my boss likes guns, and we started talking about them.

I am glad I met him, I learned a lot, and got to shoot some sweet guns because of it.

After my company moves I think I will be organizing lunch time shoots and after work shoots and evening break shoots. We will be pretty close to a local indoor range after the move. We are a small company and almost everyone know that I have guns and that I am willing to share my hobby with anyone that asks

Why would you ask a question that I can't answer? All I know is that there are big signs where we "badge in" saying no firearms. If caught carrying you would be fired on the spot. They would proably call a bunch of security as well.
