This was traded in to my favorite dealers store Monday morning, and I couldn't pass it up.

It's a Stevens 325A .30-30 bolt action, that was discontinued around 1950 and became the Savage 340.

It's in really good shape, some cosmetic wear, but not abused at all.

Can't you load spitzer rounds because it doesn't use a tube magazine? If so, that should dramatically increase the ballistics. Say a 150gr Sierra Matchking?

BTW, nice rifle I am always fond of rarities.

That is a cool rifle. If you handload you can improve the .30-30 a bit. I don't know if you hunt but the .30-30 has taken so-o-o-o many deer. Scope or peep sights help my eyes...yours may be better. :D Cool gun...nice catch!

Mark.

I've never seen one of those but after seeing it I really like one. If I ever see one at a decent price and I have the money at the time I'd probably buy it.

Can you post some more photos of it? I remember one of my brothers had a bolt .30-30, but I don't know what it was. Haven't seen it in years, I assume he still has it.
