I don't know squatt about night vision other than a gen 1 night vision monocular i got a walley world a few years back. I am kinda thinking about putting a night vision on my rifle for pig hunting at night, so i don't spook them, and have to deal with a extra light etc etc etc. you know how it goes if you have done any pig hunting. Most of the time they don't pay it any attention, but every now and then one of those big boys take off running as soon as you ping him like his tail is on fire.
Can someone please take the time to explain a few things to me . In simpleton terms. like very plain english. ok my shooting range is usually within 30 yrds. so its all close.
Ive seen pics of ar rifles with night vision scopes mounted to them with a red dot like a eotech infront of the night vision.
I am assuming that they are able to use this shooting them in the daylight as well? looking through the night vision ( without cutting it on) and using the red dot??????????????? reason i am asking i am like everyone else affected by the economy these days and would like something for daylight shooting . bacon sometimes shows up before it gets dark!!!!
So can i get a cheap NV monocular or scope , ( mount it to the rear of my picitanni rail? and then mount a red dot or other scope in front of it and be able to use it in the day and at night????? please explain to me how all of this works?
