Bought and mounted a Nikon P-223 3-9x40 on my mini-30 this weekend. Went to Nikon's website and plugged in the data for the 122gr M43 7.62x39 and found that if I zero for 150yds that the rest of the graduations fall really darn close to 200, 250, 300, and 350 yards respectivly.
Took her out to the range to test this, and sure enough. With Herters 122gr FMJ it was "Spot-On" at least as far as minute-of-milk jug is concerned.
So my question is this...according to Nikon I can order and replace the elevation turret to match the M43 7.62x39 instead of the 55gr 223 turret it came with. Has anyone ordered the caliber change kit yet? Is that all you get is the turret? For $100 clams that would seem a bit much. I would be more inclined just to black-out the one I have now. Or...do you really get more than just a properly marked turret?
