Does anyone know what thread might be standard on the Nipple (New Orleans Ace pistol...from Classic Arms).

This was given to me used as a gift, and I removed the nipple to replace it and the threads (on the Brass Frame) look like they could use a bit of re-tapping...before putting in a new nipple.

Anyone know what thread these are?

Thanks for any help!

Take the nipple to your local hardware store (the old fashioned kind that sells nuts and bolts by the piece instead of aisles full of plastic baggies) and see what size nut fits on it. Dont' forget to try the metric ones. The most likely sizes are: 12x28 and metric M6x0.75, but it could also be 1/4x28 or M6x1.0.

BTW, the 12x28 is sometimes quoted as a metric size, M5.5x0.9, which doesn't really exist in the metric standards.

I called DIXIE and they actually refered me to Classic Arms (VERY nice people) at 765-525-6181.

Sherry answered the phone and put me in touch with her husband (sounded like he was in the shop) and he squared me away in that it takes the "Standard" Classic Arms nipple which IS 1/4-28 thread.
I suspected it was, but was hesitant to do anything until I was sure. VERY nice folks.

Thanks Arcticap and Mykeal! :D Can't wait to get her squared away now!

It may be possible to wrap the nipple threads with teflon tape to tighten them up. While teflon tape is very heat resistant, I don't know if doing that would cause more harm than good or not.
