I recently came into a pre-owned Uberti/ Taylor's & Co 1860 Army with a nice action and bore but the nipples need replacing, specifically they appear to be slightly mushroomed and will not reliably set off a cap ( cap seating an issue). No problem I says, I just happen to have a set of Butler Creek replacment nipples I got from Ken Kinkaid at Muzzleloading and More in Oregon. These replacement nipples fit my other C&B pistols so I was quite surprised to discover that the threaded nipple threads are too big for the cylinder nipple thread holes.
Does anyone with a Taylors & Co 1860 revolver know what size nipples they need ? ;

Not sure on the replacement nipples ,but I had a revolver with all the nipples smashed and mushroomed from dry firing by a previous owner.
I drilled each out and turned each down with some emery cloth back to cone shape and they functioned just fine.

I've trimmed up nipples with emery cloth to eliminate the mushroom problem but it was time consuming. I would call Taylor's to ask if they know the size and do they carry them. Track of the Wolf might be able to help as well.

The nipples you have are for pietta and wont fit uberti. You will have to get uberti threaded nipples. Get some slixshots maybe?
