I have a slight problem with my Uberti 1862 Pocket Police. It's a small frame (like the .31 cal pocket revolvers) 5-shot cylinder in .36 cal that takes an apparently unusual nipple.
Thunder Ridge suggests that the Treso 11-50-30 should fit (.31 cal revolver nip 12 x 28), or perhaps Treso 11-50-16 (12x28 New Italian revolver). Track of the Wolf suggests their part numbers PCC-A (12-28 thread, for Colt revolvers, which was Treso's 11-50-16 when it arrived). A check with The Possible Shop found they also recommend the Treso 11-50-16 (Revolver 12x28 fits original Colt and Uberti revolvers) or perhaps 11-50-30 (Revolver 12x28 .31 cal Italian revolvers).
So I ordered a couple of each. And neither fits. Neither one will start in the hole - the threads on both are too big in diameter.
I measured the nipples that came in the gun (purchased from an auction in NIB condition - has never been shot) and they are: thread major diameter: 0.200" with 28 threads per inch.
Both of the Treso parts measured at the UNF spec for 12x28 threads: thread major diameter: 0.216" and 28 tpi (the difference between the -16 and the -30 is overall length).
The closest thread spec reference to a 0.200" major diameter is M5x0.8 (5mm = 0.19685"), but the thread pitch won't fit (0.8mm pitch = 31.75 tpi), and besides, I can't find any nipples that claim to have such a thread. The original nipples fit very well in the cylinders, so the holes are clearly made for the 0.200 MD.
Anybody have any idea what these strange nipples are? Has anyone successfully replaced the nipples on the Uberti 1862 Colt Pocket Police?
