Anyone know why these were discounted for Pietta 1860s?

That would be a bit more difficult, since the 45 ACP is loaded to 21,000 PSI whereas the Colt round is at 14,000 PSI. A stronger steel for the cylinder might be required which means increased cost. They are a pain to use as they require disassembling the gun to load / unload. I have one (5 shot R&D or Howell) if you want it and would sell it to you for under the going rate.
