From what I can ascertain, the 2 current U.S. made AK recievers of any renown are the No-Dak Spud and the Elk River.

Does anyone have any knowledge of these receivers? Is one better than another? If so...why?

K-var, Global Trades, has seemed to become Arsenal. To anyone's knowledge, are there any better American AK receivers made, other than these two?

Ok...For whom it may concern:

Seems like from my reading that Elk River receivers were/are 1.6mm thick, much like Yugo and RPK.

No-Dak Spud are 1.0mm thick, and exact copy of AKM/47/74.

From what I have read, either No Dak- Spud or Elk River would be a high quuality receiver for an AK platform.

i assembled an AK on a nodak spud receiver, had no problems with it at all.. however ive since lost nearly all the guns i had in my collection so its no longer with me
