I got my Dillon Super Swage 600 today. I previously used the RCBS die and was sweating my but off and getting very agitated after about 30 rounds. I'm bummed now because I only had 100ish rounds to try out the new toy with. It almost went too fast. Oh well, I will be picking up 11 5 gal buckets of crimped 223 to process for someone next week so I will really be putting the new toy to the test Anyone need an RCBS pocket swage die? lol.

Well, it is one seriously overbuilt tool but boy does it do the job and I bet it will do it for my lifetime. Can't wait to order my Giraud trimmer next week now...if this is what throwing some extra cash at the problem gets ya....just dont ask what my presses are....lol.

And if you ever get tired of it you can turn around and sell it on Ebay for close to what you've got in it. :)

I love mine.

Have a good one,
Dave

I just happen to have ordered one through Dillon's website this evening as well. I have a wad of old TW Twin Cities Arsenal 7.62x51's with remarkably tight primers... -FNR.

It was definitely someone else's money well spent. I love it and the guy knows he will get good brass back...if hes happy I believe I will process enough brass for him to pay for that Giraud trimmer too. It will be interesting to see how quickly you can do 10,000 cases with that combo.

As a side question, I have heard a couple people say that you can swage the pocket too deep with the Dillon. Is that even possible...isn't that what the rod is for? I checked the pockets with a pocket uniformer as a gage and I seated a primer just to see and everything looks to specs to me. What do you guys think?

I just picked one up

at the gun show last weekend.:D The guy I bought it from was a BR shooter getting out of the game. I think he used it to remove the crimp from 7.62x39 to make 6PPC brass. Other than the dust on it it looks brand new. I paid $15for it and it has all the parts with it. Heck, the week before I had just bought an RCBS swaging die die for $16 because I finally realized with the prices going up like they are I wanted to be able to use whatever brass became available.

With the way that the Dillon Swager works, I don't see how that is possible.

Me neither, thats why I asked...it didn't make sense to me. Getting the Dillon Super Swage 600 sure does. Now, if they could just build a case feeder for it....:neener:

I can't tell you for sure . . .BUT . . . I think I was overly aggressive on my first batch of LC .223 because the primer pockets sure seemed overly loose and that's the only time that has ever happened to me. Last two batches have been great. :(

Regards,
Dave
