No more centerfire semi auto handguns!

If the right 1911 style target pistol came along, like a Sig P210 or a higher end 45acp I'd rethink my position........

You know you're darn tootin' you would!

I love my revolvers but I love my 1911s as much or even more. Can't even fathom the thought of having my handgun collection without any centerfire semi-autos.

Besides chasing brass is good for you as a form of stretching exercise.

All my 'working' pistols are autos... all my fun pistols are revolvers. Go figure.

As far as chasing brass... I pick my battles. If I know I'm going somewhere I'm not going to want to do the brass hide-n-seek, I just pack my 'OK to lose' ammo. Same goes for rifles. Having said that... I've got a couple of lever-guns that will chuck some brass if I'm heavy on the lever!

But chasing brass for reloading is part of the charm of owning a sem-auto centerfire pistol.
Last session, I successfully found 18 out of twenty casings fired in my C96.
One session, I recovered 15 out of twenty fired in my CZ52.
I cudda shot my Security Six, and ejected 20 out of twenty into a bag on the bench, but where's the challenge in that?

Life without a HiPower? Or a Luger! Its inconceivable!

Well I have managed to get by all these years without succumbing to the lure and lore of the Luger but life without a Browning Hi-Power...it's unbelievable, unthinkable, unimaginable...just sayin' it's not goin' to happen!

I'm with you. Only I can't bring myself to part with any of my semi-auto's. Especially not my Lugers.
I'm recovering from my second major orthopedic surgery on my right foot. Chasing brass is out of the question.
I've been enjoying my Blackhawks and my Single Six lately.

I to have decided to not add any more semi's , my next purchases will be revolvers but my semi auto type will stay in my collection

I agree. The Hi Power is more of must-have for me than a 1911. I admire them both, but the Hi Power is the one that I don't want to be without. There's something about the size and feel of it, even the sound of racking the slide -- just some kind of connection there. :)

I do certainly shoot my revolvers more but as others have said some semis are just too iconic to ignore.

1911 is certainly one, but there's more than a few classics out there in the semi automagic world. I do hate chasing brass, though :)

Nary a revolver. I buy them, remember why I don't like them, and sell them. Simple as that. I just shoot a semi-auto so much better than a revolver either SA or DA. For me it isn't about the collection but rather about the shooting. If you could shoot better or worse, which one would YOU choose?

I'm on the opposite side of that. While I'm pretty good with a semi-auto, revolvers are the sweet spot for me.

I shoot a Glock better than a GP and I shoot my Blackhawk the best, prior to CC all I owned were revolvers.

I don’t give two hoots about “iconic” I want what works for me and not everything fits that category.

I'm more of a revolver guy. If I could only have one or the other, I would have revolvers.

On the other hand, I don't have to have only one or the other, and am happy to have nice examples of both. :)

Normally when I go to the range, I bring three revolvers and three semiautomatics. I'm headed there in about an hour:

S&W K22 Masterpiece
Browning Buck Mark
S&W Model 10-5
Glock 26
S&W Model 625-2
Star Model BM

Kidneyboy,
I did the same thing a couple of years ago...

Somehow it didn’t take...

I now have a Remington R51 (that’s actually reliable...now), a Remington RM380 and a Glock 19X...

I keep sane by not worrying about how much brass I get back. ;)

That's funny, I bought a revolver just to have a revolver as I had none. After a month I sold it to buy my 3rd Glock 23 gen4. I don't have a need for a revolver when there are better tools for the job that I use more efficiently.

Trigger control is the name of the game with revolvers. If you put some time in improving your trigger control you might change your mind.
