No written warranty on new RemArms guns? I guess not.

I get the impression that Ruger customer service goes beyond (in most cases) what Magnuson-Moss Act would define as full or limited warranty requirements.

Ruger has the best customer service in my book! They will pretty much take care of anything and do it nicely and promptly! Plus they pay for shipping.

SW used to rock as well but they are not as good as they used to be.

I have had one experience with Ruger customer service. They were prompt & resolved my issue. I used S&W recently but haven't made it out to shoot the pistol yet. I will test it soon.

S&W gave me an heirloom warranty for my Elite Gold SxS; my lifetime and the lifetime of my heir. When they discontinued the item, the warranty was as good as the paper it was printed on and nothing more. A written warranty in today's law-suit happy country is inviting trouble from someone looking to take advantage.

I have had mixed experiences with "warranties" in my lifetime...and they are only as good as the company. Most of us don't sue due to the cost of litigation, even when we are messed over...just like I am presuming you never Sued S&W.

On a personal note, would you buy a new "Remington" product? I would wait and see how things turn out, but that is just my opinion... As others have noted it is possible to get good CS with no written warranty, but we do not know what to expect from the resurrected "Remington".

Ruger has good customer service and they have been around, and I hope, will stay around.

Remington Arms is just a brand name owned by another investment group . If the current incarnation is just a financially over leveraged thing, only solvent due to Government welfare, it will go bust , just like that last version.

How America’s Oldest Gun Maker Went Bankrupt: A Financial Engineering Mystery

These warranties are only good for as long as the current incarnation is in business. The next version will not accept the liability of the previous Remington Brand.

Walther used to have similar citing of their new "Legendary" warranty that they started after opening the Fort Smith, AR plant. Checking now they have removed the specific verbiage from the website. Probably because too many customers had the same reaction of "Huh?"
