which states allow you to get a non-resident CCW? some require the training to be taken in their state, others allow another type of training to suffiice (police, military, hunters safety, NRA course, etc).

i have non-resident CCW for Nevada (was formerly a resident - i had to take the training in NV), Florida (mailed in a copy of my Texas CHL Training for proof of training), and just applied for the New Hampshire CCW ($20 and a photocopy of any state's CCW front/back).

i'm wondering if there are any states that are similar to New Hampshire's? just collecting them like baseball cards. :D

i'd really like a California one but i believe you must be a resident.

I have a Pennsylvania non-resident permit. You can apply over the Internet. I think the only requirement (besides the $20 fee) was to send in a copy of the permit from your state of residence with your application.

however I was looking for info here so I didn't have to click on every state......

You mean, so we could "click on every link" and report back to you so you don't have to bother?

I actually think it was more "those of you who already have done this" instead of a "please go look this up for me". :p

i didn't ask YOU or anyone else to do that for me. chill out.....all i ask is if someone knew from personal experience. in fact, a THR member told me about new hampshire this past weekend. i didn't know and he didn't go tell me to look it up on packing.org either.

if you think i was trying to get you to do something for me then sorry. i was thinking that this is a message board where people exchange information.

evidently i was wrong. :banghead:

this board is starting to get my goat....i meet some good guys on here but its the 1% on here that are just here to piss people off.

i think the next time someone tells me they are a THR member, and asking for a discount, im going to raise the price on the firearm instead of discounting it..... :D

thanks! sometimes you just wanna see how many non-resident CCW's you can collect to show your anti-gun friends that not as many people as they think are on 'their' side. :D

It can also be a useless hobby.

Between my home state and a couple of non-res permits, I'm legal in something like 31 or 32 states, I believe. But if I visit my brother in Connecticut all bets are off. Connecticut doesn't recognize anyone's permit. They will issue non-res, I believe, but nobody else recognizes it. And Connecticut is surrounded by NY, MA, RI and NJ, and none of those states will look favorably on any of my permits, either. NY and NJ are out of the question, I've received conflicting advice on whether or not it's actually possible to get a RI non-res (I know it's supposed to be possible in theory), and although I could probably get a MA non-res a lot easier than a resident could get a permit, the cost is so high it's not worth it. I would only be going through MA to get to Maine or New Hampshire anyway, so why bother?

Is it true that even pepper spray is illegal for us serfs in MA?
