I'm looking for a better gun belt that doesn't use buckle holes and is infinitely adjustable. I want something that looks like a normal belt. Does such a thing exist?

I have used the same nylon Mil-Force belt for around 5 years and havent had any problems or had the belt come undone. Mine is the 3.3cm version and fits regular belt loops fine. Doesn't seem tactical to me but your opinion may be different. At most I've had a large leatherman, small torch, and hunting knife hanging off of it without any sag issues. Can't comment on pistol carry though.

I don't know how suitable they are as a gun belt, but this is exactly what you are describing otherwise:

ETA: Er, somehow I was under the impression leather was a requirement when I mentioned that one.

I've been wearing the Propper 180 for some months now; think 'Instructor' belt, but without the climbing buckle. Dual layer nylon with five rows of stitching, reversible for two colors, and currently on sale here for under $10 each, delivered.

Best gunbelt deal I've ever found.

Pretty common in "dress" belts.

Think of the GI clamping buckles. Very versatile, very secure and no holes.

I have a boat-load of belts from a family member who was significantly larger than me but preferred clamping buckles as they required no commitment with regards to holes or particular belt length.

Called a piece of rope. snicker.
There's no such thing as a 'tactical' belt. There are those clamp buckles used with nylon belts. No good for hanging a holster from though. Too soft. You can use a brass ring as a buckle too. Belt feeds through the ring and gets looped around itself.

I just wore one of these to my Families Thanksgiving get together on Sunday with dress pants and a button down shirt.

I wore it for Jury Duty as well and no one spotted it as a gun Belt but the bailiff who asked me where he could get one. Looks great and not near as tactical as one thinks. Not infinitely adjustable but if you order the correct size it is really adjustable. Fantastic as a gun belt and highly recommended.

Bullhide Belts makes a "hook and loop" (aka "velcro") gun belt as well. I wear one for work, I can't have a buckle because when I lean up against Mrs O'Leary's stainless steel $1600 washing machine I can't go scratching it up. Looks good and I carry at work, in a tuckable holster, using the belt. Nobody is the wiser.

I don't like the "tactical" or "instructor" type belts because they shout "I carry a gun!" At least to me they do.....it is like wearing a photographer's vest to the grocery store....it just looks odd.

I picked up a 5.11 "trainer" belt from my LGS a few weeks ago. 1 1/2 inches wide. So far I like it. It is my everday use belt. Heavy duty infinatley adustable buckle. Velcro is used to secure the flap, it's fuction is not to keep the belt tight. Thick stiff 2-layer nylon material around the waist with a single layer at the end to pass through the buckle. Also comes in 1 3/4 "operator" models.

Sizing is a little weird though, I ended up exchanging my first one. I seem to be in between their sizes.

Different colors are available.

Duluth Trading has two different bucklelss belts in their catalog. I don't have one, but they look pretty good.

Thanks for all of the input. There were a lot of good suggestions in the above posts. Based on some of the questions that were posted, I guess that I should have defined my needs a bit better.

I spend most of my time in jeans and I have a couple of good quality leather gun belts with normal buckles. I like belts that look like standard leather belts; I’d prefer not to advertise that I may be carrying a gun. I have a few different carry guns that vary in thickness and weight. On top of all of that, I have a stomach condition that makes me sensitive to excessive pressure around my abdomen, particularly when I sit down in my car.

Hence, my need for a belt that is:

- Leather, or at least “non-tactical” in its appearance.
- Infinitely adjustable (no belt-holes) to avoid having the belt holes be either too loose or too tight.
- Sturdy enough to support a medium-sized handgun/holster.

Of the options listed above, I’m most interested in checking out the ones by MissionBelt.com. Hopefully the belt itself will be sturdy enough to support a holster; if not, I may be able to take another belt and use that buckle.

A proper gun belt should be too stiff to wrap up in a nice tight curl like that Mission belt is in the pic above. I have feeling you will be disappointed with its lack of support.

What holster are you using?

Are you saying folks can see your belt, but not your holster?
