Hi
First time poster here. I'm pretty much a noob (about 2 months of shooting). I attend the University of Texas and am in the Naval ROTC unit. I was introduced to shooting by a bunch of Marines during .22 pistol qualifications and now I find myself at the range quite a bit. Something about shooting that seems really relaxing to me.
I am an active member of the Rifle and Pistol club on campus and have been using mostly club guns (for air the IZH-46 and for pistols I shoot Ruger MK II's and Smith and Wesson 22A's).
I've been focusing mainly on 10m air pistols under the advice of one of my coaches and now that is what I mainly shoot. I've been to one USA Shooting PTO and shot a 459 for 10m air pistol (good for 1 and a half months?)
Anyways, it's getting to the point now that I am considering investing in my own air pistol so I don't have to use the club guns. I'm looking at the Baikal's IZH-46 since it seems to be a good gun for noobs and offers the most bang for the buck (as far as I know). I was wondering if anyone knew where i can get the best deal on one, and if someone can enlighten me to the difference between the 46 and the 46M (I don't see the difference between the two). Also, if there are any other air pistols I might want to consider that are of the same or better quality as the baikals and at about the same price.
Thanks, I'll stop writing before this gets any longer.
