I was thrilled to find CCI small pistol primers (finally) at my LGS.

Didn't notice that they were CCI 550 Magnums.

I'm reloading 9mm, .40 and .45 strictly for target shooting / practice.

I have both 9mm and a .40 sub rifles.

What type of loads can I use the magnum primers for, if any?

Thanks!

Any of them. Just reduce load a tad and work back up. You'll be fine.

If you don't already have a load, just prime and do your load work up.

Me personally, I probably wouldn't use them with a fast powder like Titegroup, just because the range is very small, but you should be good.

You could take the advice the guys above have given you........ Or buy a .357 ;)

Or find a local reloader to swap them.

Yup, this would do fine. As long as your are not near maximum charge weights, the magnum primers will not cause any issues.

If your loads are near maximum, i would drop back to minimums and test again.

Just work the load back up to be safe.
If your loads are target/plinking light loads I wouldn't even worry about it, the extra oomph the primers give you wouldn't push you anywhere near redline.
If you're new to reloading then the obvious best answer is to take the safe route and work the load back up!
