Nordic mag extensions for Benelli M2 with 18.5" barrel states that is will give me a total of 8 rounds in the tube while DMW's mag extension says it will give me a total of 7 rounds, using 2.75" shells.

how can one extension squeeze in another shell while both are the same length?

It is a mistake. It is not possible to get 8 shells in a mag tube that is even with the end of the muzzle on a 18.5" barrel. You would need a 21" barrel for 8+1 capacity.

Shotguns with a 18.5" have a 7+1 capacity capability but the extension has to be even with the muzzle and it all be usable space.

Most standard 2 3/4" measure about 2.25" before they are fired.

2.25" x 8 = 18"

From the shell stop to end of the mag tube measures about 18.75" on a 18.5" barrel shotgun. With 8 shells in the tube it would only leave 3/4" of space for the spring an follower. The spring and follower needs about 2.5" of space.

why get the Nordic? I searched for a bit before ordering the DMW extension and heard great reviews about them.

I'm waiting on a Nordic, but the Choate 8+1 on my 18" 930 SPX sticks out about 3" from the muzzle (21"). Ok for IPSC games, but i wouldn't use it for duty. Wish I could get mossy to turn out a 21" barrel to go with it.

has anyone ordered from DMW directly? mine came today, the postage said $2.70 with no tracking or insurance, only first class mail. He charged me $8.00 for shipping and the box was used, not something that he bought. Am a little ticked off. Waiting to hear back from him but be warned about the shipping.

I have ordered directly. It took 3 weeks to receive. I didn't notice that the end of the mag tube was not squared until it had been installed for a few days. It looks like a shoddy chop down on a longer tube. It functions flawlessly, but isn't the quality I was expecting.
