need a quick opinion. Found a Norinco 213 9mm that uses the mag with a spacer in it.
Very clean with one mag. Has the flat grips with the star. I can get it for $ 180 out the door.
I’m familiar with Norinco and Tokarev pistols but it’s been a long time since I have messed with them. My main question is this a good price or just so so. I would probably keep it for a while then end up trading down the road. So what do ya think?

clarify- spacer inside the magazine, and not inside the magwell? If it's inside the magazine itself, I'd say it's an ok deal. I have a T-54, which is functionally the same (but can be converted easier to 7.62, ejection port is larger).

Nobody really thinks these are great guns, they are old and boring... but I like em. Mine shoots nice and straight. Slim design, easy to clean. Blued steel, not painted or plastic. If the spacer is inside the mag, that means you can use regular Tokarev mags, and those are pretty cheap and plentiful.

I paid 159 for mine NIB quite a long time ago, so that isn't a drastic increase.

Spacer is in the magazine. I have looked around and mags are available. But like I said I would keep it awhile and then sell or trade. So at 180 do you think I could recoup most of my money if I keep it in good shape.

It’s a fair deal for one in very good condition. Mine were always very reliable with FMJ and fun to shoot, I found them to be slim and ergonomic, though I know not everyone would agree. Lots of character, which I like in a firearm.

I would think you could get your 180 out of it when you go to sell. There aren’t many, if any, all-steel solid handguns selling for less than that, at least in my neck of the woods.

Could easily play with it and sell for $200 around here.

That said, there are better uses of $180. Nowadays i feel $180 in 9mm ammo is a better option. Shoot it or stash it, in the next 10 years we’ll be looking back at $8/50 ammo and thinking why didnt I buy more.

Sure, that's a good price. Mine was shot a WHOLE LOT before I got it, but it still functions perfectly. It's not a beautiful pistol, but it's an effective one.

That's a decent price and I figure you could at least break even on it if you were to sell it somewhere down the road.

That being the case, regular Tok mags work just fine. I've used several without the spacers, never a problem.

This is the Commie version of our 1911 (meaning it was made and used by a lot of countries for a long time). Single action, single stack, slimmer and smaller than a 1911. 9mm's a good chambering for it. Of all the various Toks, the Norinco at least has a reasonable frame safety (although it sucks), instead of the crazy stuff they did to the Polish and Romanians. If you chose to remove it, there are grips around that cover that hole.

Are they considered "cheap"? Sure. But if you could change the grip angle a tad and place a grip safety, suddenly it would become a whole lot more desirable. That would be cosmetic only- the gun is basically an odd-looking 1911 style gun, in an affordable caliber.
I've had my T-54 for years, and have long sought to buy a much better gun. Other than the safety, I haven't found one that shoots noticeably better yet. And I have CZ, Beretta, Sig.... take that for what it's worth.

I paid $200 for mine about 10 years ago. I think that's a fair price. Solid shooting steel guns.
