I recently bought a new weapon and would like some input, either experiences or history of,etc. Its a matching number norinco(i still have original stock),with a folding pistol grip poly stock, bayonet,as well as a Trilux SUIT scope(with carrying case and paperwork). It came with a 30 round clip as well as stock clip.I paid $400 out the door....anyone dealt with the scope?did I get an alright deal?Is the norinco superior to the yugo,or russian?I had two yugos in the past but this one has a chrome lined barrel, any advantages to this?I know it a lot of Qs? but I think this is my new favorite, and want to know what I am holding...........PS previous owner is my gun dealer, and he had it since 1991.

Hmmmm

Your post is a little hard to understand, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you have a chinese SKS...probably stuck in a ATI folding stock and topped with a scope.

This is just my opinion, but the rifle is a good one but you paid more than you should have. 250 would be more like it. You don't need a scope on an SKS...again...my opinion. And, you'd be better off with a different stock. Try the Tapco T-6 or one of the other better stocks.

Chrome lining is nice. Makes it easier to clean, slower to wear. All SKS have chrome lined barrels except Yugos.

The Trilux scope is pretty cool too. I like the post reticle. That's probably worth about $150 by itself.

Any markings at all on the receiver?

"made in china by norinco" and serial##.I did notice all parts markedm(bolt, stock, reciever and original mag marked 00735.Does this mean anything? pics soon...........Also whats a good price for a BIG mag(40 rd or drum)?

..."I did notice all parts markedm(bolt, stock, reciever and original mag marked 00735.Does this mean anything?"...

yes, it is very likely not an SKS, unless it is the rare SKS-M model.

gunnie
