I got a package in the mail today from "North American Hunting Club" that says they want to give me a bunch of free hunting gear. They say that they send out free bows, rifles, rainsuits, etc and I get to keep them as long as I fill out a brief questionaire about the product.

This sounds WAY too good to be true. What is the catch?

You will never get chosen to "test" the products and they get your yearly dues. Don't worry though they will send you the same stuff from here on out saying that but you get some cool stickers and those little enevelope thingys with your address on them.

Google it, when i recieved the letter, i had the same impression as you. Upon very easy inspection (just googleing the name) it was pretty much proven to be a scam...sorta, it is a legitimet company, just not a good one.....

Read the fine print. I think the terms are a little better than those Nigerian email solicitations . . .

I've been a life member of NAHC since about 1987 I think...I never got chosen to test any free gear...but I did win a Ruger Red Label over and under 20 gauge shotgun from them...I believe I won that in 1989 and its still unfired (I'm not a shotgun kinda guy...but kept it for a collectible).

I like their magazine. I've gotten two things to test. one was a crappy rubber band spray paint tube keeper thingie....and the second was a cool steel Mossberg 3 color LED tracking flashlight...

I am a life member of NAHC. I didn't join for the free stuff. The magazine alone is worth the member dues. In it you get the product reviews given by those that WERE selected to test them. There is a section in the magazine where members can exchange hunts, etc. Good club. If you want "free" stuff, sign up for a government program.
