BEIJING (AP) — A two-time North Korean medalist in shooting and a Vietnamese gymnast have failed doping tests at the Olympics.

The International Olympic Committee says both athletes have been kicked out of the games after testing positive for banned substances.

Shooter Kim Jong Su was stripped of his silver medal Friday in the 50-meter pistol and bronze in the 10-meter air pistol.

Gymnast Thi Ngan Thuong Do finished in 82nd and last place in the women's floor exercises.

They are the second and third athletes caught doping in Beijing.

Spanish cyclist Maria Isabel Moreno was kicked out of the games Monday after testing positive for EPO.

The IOC is conducting a record 4,500 doping tests in Beijing.

This is the first time I've ever heard of a doping scandal in an Olympic shooting competition. Can't say as I'm surprised that the N. Koreans are the ones committing the shenanigans.

Evidently, the N. Korean competitor was busted for having Propranolol in his system. According to Wikipedia, Propranolol is a beta-blocker commonly used to control high blood pressure.

do some age tests on those chinese gymnasts. birth records, DNA, Physicals, heck cut them open and count the rings! ( people are like trees right?)

Good on the Olympic Committee!
My big concern is false positives, but that said, I hope they keep the Olympics "clean" and the athletes don't feel they have to use drugs to be competitive.
