I currently shoot a 7mm STW with a 26" barrel. I hunt deer, elk and moose with this cartridge with a shooting range out too 400 yds. I currently use nosler 140 accubonds on deer and 160 accubonds for moose and elk. My question is would the new accubond 150 grain long range bullet be a much flatter shooting bullet than the 140-160 spitzer style. My thought was to use 150 grain nosler accubond lr's on all game. Any comments appreciated

Has this mystical bullet made it to production yet? I have heard about it for a while but I think Bigfoot hoarded them all.

Regardless of when Santa Clause will finally bring them to your LGS... The BC of the LR versions of the AccuBond's is substantially higher than the originals (as shown in the 2013 Nosler Catalog). So, assuming they can be pushed to similar velocities (I haven't seen any load data), then, yes... they would be flatter shooting. I would plug the info into any of the on-line ballistic calculators (with an estimated velocity) to get an idea of just how much flatter it would be.

Out to 400 yards. Almost no difference what so ever. Past say 600 yards or so it starts to matter.

I don't care how flat it shoots, i want to see some proof of how it performs on big game first... I MUCH prefer hunting bullets over snipeing bullets.

If it is anything like previous Accubong bullets it will be a very reliable hunting bullet.

I respect the terminal performance of the 140gr AB when fired out of my 270win at ~2900fps. I would imagine that the terminal performance of the Long Range AB's would be similar. And, they should continue to perform well at ranges somewhat greater than the original AB, due to their ability to retain their velocity longer.

Of course, this has yet to be seen, since the bullets aren't available yet. But, I'm pretty sure they aren't magic pills. And I still wouldn't take 1000 yard shots on moose.
