Nosler Ballistic Tip and Partitions

It's okay, as threadstarter, Accubond is fine haha. It's like the intermediate between the two.

I had a Ruger 77 270 that didn't care what you put through it. It would print them near the same POI out to 200 Yards. Like a dummy I sold it.

I have to agree. And then there's the stuff one can't get rid of fast enough. Lucky me, I was able to buy back a sweet little rifle I sold 7 years ago. It's getting some much needed attention this weekend.

Since the OP opened it up to Accubonds-
Sometimes they shoot tighter than Partitions or Ballistic Tips from a particular gun. The only way to find out is load 'em up and shoot 'em.

That was my point prior to putting my foot in my mouth- they are tough enough for most applications and shoot much better than partitions....at least in my guns.

When I developed loads for Moose, I used Ballistic Tips for the workup, and Patitions to hunt with, so I would have to say no. That's just my personal preference, based on my shooting many deer and my Dad shooting one moose; he also chose Partitions. I know many other people have used Accubonds very successfully, and I think they are an accurate bullet that performs well on game.

I have taken Moose, Elk,Black Bear, Mule Deer and Whitetail with accubonds without a failure.... Now let me say I shoot a 8mm Mag and am shooting 200grs- I cannot speak to lighter bullets-

Would you guys feel comfortable using Accubonds on Moose and Blackbears?
In the heavier weights they should work fine. I shoot a 300WSM a lot and tried a 150gr Accubond on our local deer herd. It was like a bomb. I went back to my 165gr. If I had moose on the list I would go to a 180 or 200gr.

I would be comfortable using a bullet that only grouped 1.5 MOA on elk and bears, There was a time when I hunted with a 06 and the Nosler partition shot okay and did fine on game. No elk, but deer and bear. Not sure they hand ballistic tips then. I used Sierra bullets in the same weight for target shooting.
