ive been working on this load to no avail.

Staball powder
Winchester Lrp
Nosler 130 rdf

Best I’ve gotten is a one inch group at a hundred yards at mag length.

Tested from 43 gr up to 44.2 grains
Hit best accuracy at 43.8 and 43.9 gr
Been seating deeper in 3k increments and it just keeps getting worse.
Loaded some 3k longer than mag length and it was worse as well.
So far the only thing close to moa was 43.8 gr at 2.266 Cbto anything off of that is considerably worse.

So have I met my match and this combo just will not work?

Or do some of you have some ideas I can try

Thanks

The RDF bullet either works great in my rifles or struggles to hold 1.5 moa.
As a last ditch I try faster side of burn rate. It's something I learned trying to jump to the lands with Mil-surps and it carries over to better rifles.

I would start shooting at 200 or 300 yards to judge groups. 100 yards just does not seem to tell the story.

How far off the lands are you now?

BFh are you saying try a faster burning powder?

Jam is 2.337
Cbto is 2.266
Jump is .071
2660 FPS

This is a model 700 American hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor just to clarify. It shoots 95 gr Hornady carnitas express consistently .6 - .4 moa. And shoots Hornady black 140 grain .7- .6 consistently. It is bedded free floated and has a timney trigger. Good shooting rifle

For the 130s based on the other powders listed from hodgdon, staball may not be what I'd run. The 140+ looks like where I'd be trying that powder. I'm also not thrilled with the rdf in general, is this load to be for paper or squishy stuff?

Horse. It will be used for hunting. I’d like to at least get 3/4 moa consistency out of these components. I’m inclined to agree with the faster powder like you guys are saying. That gun does have a shorter barrel. I hit first signs of pressure right at 44 gr which is max from hogdon. As I said I do have some shooters world 4350 if it’s a little slower burning? I have a box of 140 Berger’s I will be loading as well maybe the staball would be better suited for that bullet

Use the 4350 on the rdf and stick the staball under the bergers.

I will follow up on that. Got a fairly solid load worked up. Just doing some minor testing for any improvement. Es is looking good accuracy is looking good. I expect this bullet to perform similar to Berger. If it woks out I’ll get some pictures of internal damage as well as the exit.
I must say I didn’t care for the staball powder. First ball powder I’ve ever used and probably the last. I think my friend was as dissatisfied with it as I was. We tested close to 30 different load outs with it and almost had one group that was moa. Maybe the bullet was a little light maybe the barrel was a little short but consistent velocities and repeatable accuracy were non existent. Thanks again for the feedback and when I can get hooked up on a hog I’ll get some photos and follow up.
