So destroying weapons possibly used in unsolved crimes it is good why?

Don't try to understand it. Things that happen in Detroit don't make sense anywhere else. Like the fact that Kwame kept getting reelected even though everyone knew he was a crook.

But the point of the legality is a good one. Technically if any of those guns are stolen, can't the police be prosecuted for buying stolen property? Only in Detroit.

That's EXACTLY what they should have done, and it should have been planned out in advance with lawyers cocked and locked and a real camera crew in attendance.

Just keep suing and suing until it gets too expensive to continue breaking the law.

That's the ONLY way that illegality by police will be curbed.
