Good article. It details what I began griping about back when it was passed.
I'm still of the opinion that it was passed in fear: Fear for the well-being of Congressfolks and high-level political appointees. It doesn't do much FOR Joe Sixpack as it does AGAINST him...

According to my calender, and local newspaper, which come to think of it, isn't the most reliable source of information, today is 14 July, 2003.
Would you be willing to make book on the following. Of 435 "congress critters" and the 100 "senate critters", the vast majority of whom voted in favor of The Patriot Act, how many of them do you think eventually read the thing they voted in fravor of?
