Does anyone have experience, or just an opinion, with the KX3 "Flaming Pig" on non SBR ARs? I'm building a 16" mid-length specifically for HD and I'm curious if the KX3 will benefit me. I live in a very spacious open concept home and ultimately barrel length is not much of an issue. Flash and report are. Originally I had planned on using the Smith Vortex but I've decided that report is the greater issue since my home is generally pretty well lit even at night.

I understand that this Krink style suppressor is intended to increase back pressure and ensure reliable cycling in short barrels but I also know that the Noveske has a reputation for being excellent at directing the report forward. I've even heard and read several opinions that its the next best thing to an actual sound suppressor.

At 1.1" longer than the Smith Vortex and on a light profile barrel with an UBR stock I think that balance and the OAL of the weapon will be minimally affected but obviously I'm looking for some insight from more experienced members here before I commit myselt to the idea.

That increased back pressure is likely to cause function problems on a rifle that doesn't normally need it.

I'd get a suppressor if that's the intended use.

it seems to me that with a lightweight barrel, adding almost a half pound to the end would more than minimally affect balance.

Wont a suppressor cause even more back pressure?

Maybe, I was hoping the UBR on the other end would balance it out.

Yes. Don't do it. :D Save your ducats.

If you are simply trying to throw the blast forward a cheap Levang will work nearly as well.

My HD rifle is a SBR and I found that the PWS CQB was ever so slightly more effective.

Is that a Sully stock , Sam? Note KX5 compact and lightweight Flaming Pig is just being released. It was made smaller OD to go into long forends on SBRs. I have NOT experienced any pressure issues on any 16" or shorter barreled mid, carbine DI or pistol DI nor piston ARs or Aks with the KX3 attached . It makes legal if pinned 13.7" or longer barrels FWIW. Nothing I have seen works as good for the purpose IMHO. Troy Claymore is pretty quiet too from the sides.

Wasnt aware of the KX5. Thinner by .12" and lighter by 2.5oz. Cheaper too. Definitely worth waiting for reviews.

The Levang is supposed to be near impossible to clean but I guess for the price I could just not clean it.

Was also interested in the Hera LC/S. Looks to just be an expensive Levang though.
