noveske kx5

just looking for info and pics on which rails you guys have installed with a noveske kx5. it says is a 1.25" diameter, what is the inside diameter of the midwest and bravo keymod rails?

I just looked into this myself when putting my build together. The MI lightweight tubes are said to be 1.3" I.D., which would mean the new KX5 will just fit inside.

I can double-check that measurement when I get home if you like.

How are you figuring that you'll need it to tuck inside? My one thought experiment was to build with a 14.5" M4 barrel and then permanently pin and weld the body of the XK5 to it to make a legal 16"+ barrel. Then the back of the KX5 would tuck inside the 15" tube.

I ended up going with a 16" middy barrel and Gunfighter comp instead and am very happy with it. The whole package might have come out an inch or so shorter with the KX5 and shorter barrel, but I didn't see it as worth the possible trade-offs.

Just did a little math. The KX5 is 3.25" overall. About 1/2" of that would overlap on the threaded section of a 14.5" M4 barrel. So your new total length for the barrel and pinned-and-welded KX5 would be 16.25". That would leave 1.25" of the flash hider protruding from the front of a 15" tube.

That's the Noveske tube, which they say is 1.35" I.D. Just 50 thousandths wider than the MI tube like I have.

That is a 16" barrel and the standard A2 length muzzle device, so abut 17.25" total.

14.5+3.25=17.75

there are some 13.7" barrels available from noveske. their infidel rifle has me intrigued. could be the inspiration for my next build. either that or i'll build a mk12 type rifle. the bcm jack carbine was the inspiration for my most recent build. I dont build clones, but I like to build rifles that have similar features
