Just saw the circular for the local Dick's Sporting Goods.

They have a Puma Youth (Yut?) combo on sale for $90 after rebate.

Can come with either .22/410ga. barrels, or .22/20ga. barrels.

Gun and 2 barrels for $90 is inexpensive, some kids will be getting fun stuff for the holidays no doubt.

Also Rem. 9mm, case price, 10 @ $8.98 per box of 50, not bad for brass ammo.

This is at the Middletown, NY store, I know they vary by store sometimes.

Here in Nashville I bought a case of the 9mm for that price, too. Good stuff for the range!

Oh, and get a "ScoreCard" (the Dick's rewards points card) while you're there. It's free, takes less than 2 minutes to fill out, and you get 100 bonus points on signup + 100 bonus points if you have an email address. At 300 points ($1 spent = 1 point IIRC) you get a 10 dollar gift card, so with my first case of ammo plus some Hoppes 9 I got 10 bucks free... Not a bad deal, methinks.

Funny you mention this...

Going to Dicks to pick up a Pardner Protector as soon as I get off work (my wifes christmas present to me).

They have it on sale for $159 with an extra $10 off coupon. It will be hard to beat that price anywhere. I have read that it is a very, very serviceable shotgun (some even like it more than the 870).

Buddy is picking up a Remington .22 from Dicks today as well.

Their 30-30 prices are a steal at 6.95 a box after rebate.

I absolutely refuse to get those "store reward cards"
They aren't being nice and giving you money they are selling your info and buying habit information. You just get a percentage of what you make them.

I hardly ever shop there, and if they want to know that I'm buying Hoppes 9 and a few boxes of ammo every few months, I'm fine with that. I checked the little boxes saying "no emails or phone calls, please," and though I'm not terribly confident that they'll respect that, I don't much care. This wasn't the first "reward card" I've gotten (more like the 8th, including grocery stores), and I don't have piles of junk mail nor email spam, so no big deal. :)

By "Puma", I guess you mean the Rossi single shots? That's a good deal, yes. The Pumas (from Rossi) are leverguns and are much more expensive.

Last week I bought a Remington 870 at Dicks for $199. $30 off the regular price plus $30 Remington rebate plus $20 Dicks gift card when you purchase a Remington plus $20 in Score Card points.

Yup, it's Rossi, not Puma on the Youth Combo.

Also noticed some other outstanding ammo prices there.

Winchester SP 30-30, after rebate, an incredible $4.98 per box
Rem. .243, ,308, & .30-06 are $7.98 after rebate

Rem all purpose 12 & 20 ga. $3.98
Rem Gun Club Target loads case price $4.98

Now that's inexpensive
