NRA Annual Meeting

Sure hope to, since it's a fairly easy drive for once.
What's the scoop on CC or OC at the venue where it's being held?

Count me in. I work right down the street form the venue!

Good question on the CC question. I'm not sure if the convention center is posted "no guns" or not. If saw that admission is free for NRA members, but if any kind of admission is charged, I'd imaging that CC would not be permitted.

Downtown Charlotte is not the wisest place to try and OC, but it would be interesting to see if the local PD hassle anybody since it is an NRA convention.

EDIT - Just read the rules for the convention center....

"The possession of a dangerous weapon is prohibited in the Convention Center, except as provided below. Concealed weapons are strictly
prohibited in the Convention Center."

You're not allowed to bear arms at an NRA convention? In an OC state? LOL..........
This only serves to reinforce what I've been preaching for years: NRA = negotiate rights away.

This thread, I presume, was started for those interested in attending the NRA convention-not as a platform for malcontents to air their petty little grievances. Save the spiteful sniping for another venue. Stay home, mem, and play some more with the guns the NRA has fought hard for you to have.

Just so happens I am taking the Freedom Cycle out for our spring ride, through eastern TN and over to Matthews, NC about the time of this convention.

Seeing how NC is an OC state, it only seemed natural an organization supposedly promoting the right to bear arms would WELCOME me.

That's twice this year I've been wrong.
Beside, the NRA has yet to do a damned thing for me, other than negotiate our rights away.

This will be my fourth, first solo though hope it will still be fun. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Orlando. And now Charlotte.

OOPS been to three this will be our fourth.

"Sigh"...guess you're just not welcome. What a shame. On the bright side, maybe you will run across a gun show in your travels that allows you to ccw while attending it. Let me know when or where that happens. I won't be holding my breath.

The NFL and NCAA impose all sorts of conditions upon their host cities and venues that require bending or abandoning laws, rules and regulations for the duration of the event.

The NRA should do the same.

guys-- guys

At the NRA show in NC.. there will be a lot of guns to play with

RULE ONE -- NO FIRING PINS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING AT THIS TIME

Rule two -- YOU CAN'T BRING A GUN TO A GUN SHOW...???? :cuss:

also there will be bunches of people- youS and mes, along with TV and radio hosts, and all my good GOP friends.
Now, I don't want any of them to get hurt.. all for safety here. Normally I CC also not here.
Have a good time guys :)

Would that include being allowed to carry a concealed loaded gun to the Super Bowl? And, if not, it must mean the NFL is anti-gun. Let's boycott the rascals! Get real here. Please advise as to which laws were circumvented, bent, or otherwise changed to accomodate a sporting event. Be specific-that is, cite the ordinance and its attendant alteration.

I'd like to be there. Maybe next time. I don't care if guns aren't permitted, although it would make for a great Kodak moment if they were!

Interesting. At the Phoenix show last year, many people were carrying pistols, openly.

The Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network will be there with a booth. I hope any of our members will stop by and say hi.
