NRA asking people to contact Congress

What I find frustrating are the names on the above-quoted list. We know where Boxer and Feinstein stand on these issues, and we know too that they're highly ignorant of firearms and of gun safety. I'm hoping Ms. Waters has a more-reasonable perspective on these very important issues.

Alas, Waters gets a solid F from the NRA, only because there's no lower grade.

Wrote to both senators and to my rep. Glad it helped. I couldn't believe that Grassley introduced a "gun-control" bill. The world really is on it's head.

HEARD THIS ON 6:00 /AM NEWS...
Susan Collins (R-ino ME)is trying to put a 'better bill' together, some Senators such as Portman (R-OH) are initially supporting it. Remain watchful, remain vigilant!

....and don't dimsiss this as hype, ol' Mitch (hiccup) said there could be a vote. From the article about 1/3rd way down...

''“If the purpose is no-fly, no-buy, we have accomplished that purpose,” said the Maine senator. Collins said that she was told by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that the proposal would get a vote within the next two weeks.''

I got a new email this morning that promotes the universal reciprocity concept. I edited slightly to include Islamic terrorist as the problem not a shortage of disarmed Americans. We should use all of these opportunities to keep pressure on. Every time the anti America crowd decides to change the status quo, we should change in Americas favor. No more gun free victim zones. Post offices should be open to all citizens, even those that believe in the constitution.

Be warned that this isn't over yet and that Republicans like Flake and Collins are eager to put No Fly/No Buy legislation up for a vote. http://www.azcentral.com/story/news...flake-gun-control-compromise-senate/86195982/

Stay in touch with your Senators and remind them that these aren't just anti 2A proposals, but anti 4th, 5th and 14th proposals. If your senators are D point out that they certainly don't want this increase with unmoderated power in the hands of an R administration. If your senators are R, point out the same. Remind them that there are nearly a million people on watch lists and nearly 100,000 on the No Fly list. Some of them have nothing more than similar names to suspects and yet they were suddenly prohibited from air travel and subjected to surveillance that never removes them from such a list and who would become prohibited people from exercising their 2A rights. It also makes it easier for real threats to determine they're under suspicion just by trying to purchase a .22 handgun. The FBI doesn't even like that idea and has said so. The ACLU opposes it and the SAF opposes it and those aren't groups you see on the same side of many arguments so it should make every one of us suspicious that it isn't good legislation.

Due process does not include forcing you to go through the ordeal of suing the Federal government to get your rights back unless you've already gone through the trial process.

don't forget GOA

do like how this latest NRA ILA webpage will send your email for you. Talk about making these attempts to contact our local legislators more convenient! Thank you, NRA ILA!

Besides the NRA which I'm a proud member, don't forget GOA (Gun Owners of America) They allow you to send in any amount for yearly dues and send newsletters along with preprinted postcards which you can send to your reps in congress. Plus, on your email you get updates to current firearm issues and emails tailored to your reps in congress depending on their leanings on firearms issues. Usually I send them about $40 bucks for yearly dues and then once in awhile I'll send $5 to cover all the mailings/newsletters.

I wrote mine. If you live in dallas. Write Mark Veasely. I couldn't because I am not in his district. He was just on TV saying he was a gun owner and shoots clay pidgeons and hunts. But he wants gun control. He needs to be reminded the 2nd amendment isn't about hunting.

The Antis claim they'll be back after the recess with the same antics so be prepared and notify your Congresscritters, politely, of what your expectations are for their representation of you.

If they are Democrats, remind them that violations of the 4th, 5th and 14th Amendments to to put additional restrictions on firearms possession/purchase affecting everyone and opposed by the ACLU will not be tolerated. If they are Republicans, remind them that violations of the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 14th Amendments opposed by the NRA and the ACLU will not be tolerated. Feel free to invoke Clinton and Trump as the respective "boogy men" where appropriate.

Make sure you point out that the ACLU has been opposed to these secret lists for the same reason the NRA is now.

Well said Sir.

Id add just being a repub doesnt mean bill of rights supporter. We watched a state congressman kill off a push the proof to the prosecutor bill to promote himself for a judge seat. He didnt get it due to a massive letter writing campaign. Point being he had a decent gun support voting record prior but went south when it came to himself vs. Everyone else. A true human issue. Exepct more of this from both parties as they are filled with people afterall.
