Anyone else get that DVD "The Top Ten Guns that Changed the World" and the 1903 Springfield coin? I've seen the video on the History Channel but the coin is pretty cool. Any ideas what the other DVDs will be? I figure they will just be the 1 hour "Tales of the Gun" episodes, but at $9 with a coin (assuming that was the regular price, not an "introductory price"), it's not a bad deal. I've always thought $19.95 for a 1 hour DVD was over-priced and that the channels were losing revenue that way.

Pretty sneaky with the coin though. My curiosity and OCD are tweaked, so I'm gonna pay my $9 and see how the series progresses. I guess the collector album might tell me how many coins to expect, may even say what they will be (I wonder if I can coin check anyone at a NRA convention...:p

!!!

They sent me a videotape and keep asking me to pay for it or send it back!
:cuss:

Had they sent a DVD I would have gladly purchased it considering VHS is nonexistant in my home.

I got tired of the demand notices, and sent it back.

I think the NRA really made a mistake with this promotion, sending unsolicited tapes then dunning folks for payment. The NRA is great, but they need to get a better fundraising director, because whoever thought this up needs to get fired.

Same here. Why in the hell would they send me a VHS tape? I just tossed it like I do with their "reminder" letters.

Interesting. I got a DVD, while others seem to have gotten a VHS tape (yet I do not recall ever indicating a choice to the NRA). Also, the letter I got with my DVD says I could keep it as a free gift since I didn't ask for it. I think paying for this one will place me on the list to get more.

It clearly states that there is a postage-paid return label for each video, so it should be fairly hassle-free to participate in this program. Hopefully this is worthwhile and doesn't turn into a disguised fund-raiser.

It is a disguised fundraiser, and it is hassle-free to send the tapes/DVDs back. I've bought some they've sent me (Stories of Ruger, Winchester, Browning, really interesting stuff) and sent back most. I look at it like a Netflix-type service and I like it, since I don't have cable TV.
