Folks, I'm looking for NRA training to become a Certified Firearms Instructor. I live in the Columbus, GA/Phenix City AL area. Can anyone put me in touch with a Certified Trainer in my area?

(I've asked the NRA through their website, but they apparently can't respond until about three weeks...)

Thanks!

Good luck hearing back from the NRA. I have contacted them 3 times in the past 4 months to get information on an instructor in my area so that I could become an instructor and have yet to hear anything from them...

The NRA website has a page to find classes in your area. Keep in mind also that NRA classes are not geographic specific. Even if you live in Georgia, you can take the training anywhere that it is offered.

Here are two upcoming sessions in Georgia:

Not trying to steal your thread, but I do have had trouble locating an instructor or class I can take in Daytona Beach Florida, or Richmond Virginia. I've even thought of holding out and going to a seminar at Camp Perry with the CMP

Although I have a son in Tampa, I really don't know my FL geography to know if these are close to Daytona Beach... (or Richmond, VA)...but...according to the NRA web site...

Instructor classes in my area are few and far between. I understand that I can go and take the class wherever it is offered, but the closest I have found was a 12 hour drive...

It has been my undrestanding that the reason one contacts the NRA for a list of instructors who teach instructor classes is so that you can contact them and find one who is willing to travel so you can have one in your "area".
