NRA Life Membership just posted a real deal to upgrade $600.00

Been meaning to do this for awhile but been waiting for a deal on the life membership. Sadly this is poor timing for my budget. Maybe I'll be able to find the money before this ends.

Any serious gun activist should be an NRA member. And better yet, a Life Member.

That said, let's not kid ourselves about the influence an individual member can have on the organization. The NRA has an overpaid, entrenched bureaucracy. I'm pessimistic that these people can be dislodged. Their salaries could (maybe) be justified if they were more effective, but there is absolutely no accountability. There has been zero legislative progress since the last election. Just empty words, designed to garner more contributions.

Just know that NRA Life Membership does not mean they stop asking you for dues. There are at least two higher levels of "Life Membership" that NRA will continue to ask you to upgrade to... for even more money.

Three, and you can do the same monthly payment plan for each of them.

I’m Ultimate King Grand Worshipful Double Most Patriotic Life Member, or whatever the Life + 3 level is. Then they ask you to join Golden Eagles or something else, which is annual.

I’m not doing the annual one yet, but might at some point. If I’m going to donate money, the NRA isn’t a bad one to get it.

I'll go Benefactor next election cycle. NRA is the biggest dog in the firearms arena. There are other gun owner orgs that are "no compromise" but they have 17 members and operate out of mom's garage. Joe

A better option with an organization that is doing more....in my opinion.

I strongly urge people to stop giving money to the NRA and join GOA instead, there as not been a gun control bill passed that the NRA did not have a hand in. Don't kid yourself, they are not there to ensure you have 2A freedoms, they are there to fear monger and beg for money that they promise to use to fight against the legislation that they are helping to write behind closed doors. Gun Owners of America is a NO COMPROMISE 2A support organization that actually stands up for gun rights in America, the NRA will never get another dime from me.

Reading material for anybody interested in learning what the NRA is really about:
http://time.com/4431356/nra-gun-control-history/

The NRA is currently supporting the attempts to ban the ownership and use of Bump Stocks through illegal actions by the ATF.

The NRA supported the NFA (1934)along with the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA),

The NRA supported the 1993 law known as the Brady Bill

Direct quote from the NRA:
NRA: "In the name of safety, any person who carries or is exempted from having a CCW permit should be required to have some form of firearm training." [emphasis theirs]

SOURCE: http://www.nraila.org/LegislativeUpdate.asp?FormMode=Detail&ID=268 (Posted on their website, exactly as above, on February 25, 2002)

Bill of Rights: "...the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

With such a diversion between the two, to whom shall we be loyal -- America's Bill of Rights, or the NRA?

I'm an Endowment Level member, but I'm starting to get more than a little perturbed at the NRA for wandering into the social/cultural wars with their online presence. NRATV on Twitter is a constant stream of social conservative commentary that has almost nothing to do with guns at all. I'm a conservative too, but I don't want the NRA to become the National Republican Association. The R stands for Rifle and I wish they would keep it that way. As it stands today they are all lined up to lick Trump's boots rather than lined up to help Congress introduce pro-2A legislation.

I'm not giving them any more money until they get back to focusing on gun rights, and I have told them so. They don't seem to be listening.

The GOA just doesn't have the numbers, or the clout, that the NRA does. The NRA is the only pro-gun organization that Congressmen listen to. When was the last time you received a postcard from the GOA regarding a recommendation in a local election, for example? Larry Pratt's "no compromise" stance on the 2nd Amendment is fine, but he's preaching to the choir.

I too have concerns about the NRA, but, let's face it, it's the only game in town when it comes to representation before Congress. That said, the NRA could do a lot better.

The only way to change that is to shift the numbers to GOA and make the NRA the minority voice. Join both of you must, but something has to change.

Agreed, the NRA does a lot of good but they have become somewhat similar to a bloated government entity with not much accountability, and that's the exact reason I'll never be a Life Member. When the NRA starts compromising too much, I'll pull my membership in a heartbeat.

Go GOA!
