Wasn't sure where to post this, but here we go. I've decided to join the NRA. It's $35 a year to be a member on their site, but I found this special offer:

https://membership.nrahq.org/forms/signup.asp?CampaignID=FrdmAssoc&ek=Y9JTAZ9G

Not only is it $10 less, but you also get 2 years instead of one and a pocket knife. Is this the same membership as the one on the main site? Does it have the same perks? I noticed at the top it says "NRA Freedom Associate Membership".

Even better go find a gun at your local toy store that includes a free 1 year membership to the NRA.

It's the same thing, you just get a bonus for doing more than one year at a time. I got a Life Membership a while back, when it was cheaper, under an offer where they would charge you quarterly on your credit card, so you could pay for it over a couple of years with no interest charges. I thought that was a pretty good deal.

I finally went ahead and joined last week after I received a sizable paycheck (for a college kid ). I just did the one year $35 membership, because it fit my budget the best, but I plan on renewing every year, until I can afford the Life Membership.

Now if I can just wait a little longer for a Tax Refund check, or my holiday bonus, I will be able to afford my Concealed Carry Permit! :D
