Note: Since this is a class taught by an NRA Instructor, it should also meet the requirements of the new Iowa permit to carry law as the required training to apply for the Iowa Permit after 1-1-2011.

With the new law designating NRA Instructor status as an entry into teaching Iowa CCW classes, there may be some interest in attaining certification.

I have had many calls and e-mails requesting information and locations. Here is the current information:

* All classes are for the NRA Pistol Instructor Certification. All begin at 9am on the first day, typically a Saturday, of the 2 day workshop. A typical schedule is:

* Sat: 9am-4pm, NRA BIT (Basic Instructor Training), a 6 hour module required for all new instructor candidates; 4:30pm-8pm, start the 11 hour Pistol module

* Sun: 9am-conclude, finish the pistol module

I have set up 5 locations.

May 22/23; Lincoln, NE, at the Holiday Inn Express, 3939 N. 26th (good venue for far western Iowans)

May 29/30, Des Moines area (actually in Altoona), at the Holiday Inn Express, 165 Adventureland Dr. NW;

June 12/13, Davenport area (actually in Le Claire) at the Holiday Inn Express, 1201 Canal Shore Dr. SW

July 10/11, Sioux City, Holiday Inn, 701 Gordon Drive

July 24/25, Council Bluffs, IA, at the Holiday Inn Express, 2211 S. 32nd St.

Note: If your area of the State would want a session, I would be happy to do that if there are at least 4 people interested.

There is no pre-payment or deposit required. To register, or for more information, please e-mail me: [email protected] or visit the NRA web site and register on-line.
