Nra Reloading Metallic Cartridges Class?

Im curious to know if anyone has ever took the Nra Reloading Metallic Cartridges Class.I never really though of my self as a reloader but heck its a cheap class and it will get me out of the house..And maybe when i buy a 44 mag i will reload.But im curious to what is learned in the class and can a person safely reload after taking this class.I couldnt find much on the Nra website explaining the class.Thanks for any info
 
I have been reloading for about 2 1/2 years and haven't had an opportunity to take this class, but probably would if someone offered it in my area. I just started out with a couple manuals, read them a couple times each and then started making ammo. I would say most people start this way, so if you also have the benifit of the NRA class you should do fine. Jim.
 
Thanks for the reply.Im more of a have to see with my own eye's type of person.Maybe i should take the class and then buy some video's or something.Reading hasnt been my strong point.Even when its something I love to do.
 
Ask around your local ranges. There's probably several reloaders who will help you get started. The actual task of reloading is really simple, but you must pay close attention to details.

That IMO is about best way to go. One thing that my NRA Councillor mentioned when I was doing my Instructor's course was, the potential problems from a legal POV with the NRA reloading deal.

In the litigious age in which we live - there is a degree of concern over whether someone being ''officially'' taught might come back after some accident and lay blame (incorrectly) and then sue!! I had thought of doing that class but decided to just remain .. Mr ordinary reloader!!

I would advocate reading first - much reading. Followed by at very least one on one help from an experienced reloader friend ... even over phone could work, tho ''hands on'' always preferable.
 
Training is almost always a good investment. I'm sure the NRA class will be very helpful. Go for it. Reloading will really increase your enjoyment of shooting sports.
