NRA "Thank You" Thread

I have my issues with the NRA but as a longtime Life member, they generally represent my interests to people who would otherwise ignore me. This was a battle won by our team.

I normally think of the NRA as the 800 pound gorilla, but there's no denying they were a big help in this fight. We should also give credit to the companies like Ruger who have been trying to make it easier for gun owners to contact their Representatives.

I don't personally remember such an organized and passionate assault on our gun rights, at least since 94. Everyone did a great job fighting and deserves a big "thank you."

The president more or less directly blamed the NRA for the failure of his gun control measures in his speech so I want to be a part of that.

Yes, many thanks to the NRA.
And thanks to the hundreds of thousands of members that joined over the last few months. The money certainly helps. But the membership head count does a lot to make the congress critters take notice.

A great big THANK YOU to the NRA and all its members (as well as to all of the other organizations, companies, and individuals), involved in fighting the good fight for our Second Amendment rights.

In the 15 or so years out of 45 that I stopped shooting regularly, "I still carried", I forgot what the NRA really did for the Country, aside from guns themselves. It is there to keep the Politicians Honest, at least as honest as you can keep a Politician.
They help us negotiate the freeway of Government policy's in a language that is as straight forward as possible. Without them the Regular Guy" might not be aware of what some of these people are really up to when they try and pass some pretty obscure legislation, that a lay person might not comprehend.
They lay it out and make it easy to understand for Americans who may not understand the "mumbo jumbo", and they pull us together with a common cause, to remain a free society, which fortunately or not, we must be ready to fight for occasionally or we lose that right.
I "get it" more now in my 60's than before, maybe it just was a different world when I grew up, but now more than ever, with the forces of misguided bureaucracy who have an agenda for our Country, the NRA is one of the more important clubs that you should want to be a member of. We need them, and they need more of us.
Not just shooters or gun enthusiasts, but anyone who doesn't want to see our rights erode. Just my 2 cents.

Ive always been critical of the NRAs past concerning black rifles and other things important to me. However I recently joined after Sandy Hook to help combat this fight and I could not be prouder of them and us for doing their part. So, yes, thank you NRA and everyone else who helped fight the good fight! Proud card carrying new member here.
