Anyone have any pics of a snubbie w/ a nubbed hammer? I have lots of dao and traditional da/sa wheelguns, but am interested in possibly nubbing a normal hammer and retaining the da/sa functionality.

Do you mean like the S&W Model 638?:

My brother has an older nickel/stainless Model 38 with the shrouded hammer. It's sweet!

Here's a picture of my snubby right after I got done putting a spurless trigger in it and set of Tyler T Grips on it. 1982 Speed-Six Ruger .357 ss. 23/4" Barrel.

I think he means cutting off part of the actual hammer?

Gotcha. I thought the spurless hammers like Baldy's (or the RCMP Rugers that CAI imported a few years back) made the revolvers Double Action Only. The 638's shrouded hammer can still be hand-cocked for a single action shot.

That's kinda funny... a nubbed hammer.
That would make some Nubbed Snubs.
Here's one with and one with-out.

While not real radical, this has worked for me. I wanted something that eliminated hammer bite, still gave good purchase for single action cocking and was more snag resistance. I cut, ground, and polished it back a little at a time to give me a shape that I felt comfortable with. It eliminated the bite, cocking is easy and it is more snag resistant than it looks (I have never had a problem with it drawing from IWB or pocket carry, but your mileage may vary).

My 36 with the hammer spurred and wearing hip grips. Don't prefer it but got the gun like this from the previous owner. Looks like it was buzzed off with a bench grinder but works ok.

Thanks guys, great pics. Yeah, I was talking more about a full hammer that's been ground down but still retains the ability to shoot single action.

Here is my recently finished 25-2. I have been very pleased with it.

Depends on what you've got. This 360 wears a 340 hammer. You can find them cheap, and it's a lot less trouble than bobbing.
