I'm in the market for a new barrel for my cz 52, not good shape used but truely new, and so far this is what I have come up with so far.

http://www.e-gunparts.com/basket.asp

I have seen the "original" but good shape used barrels on Makarov.com going for 2x the price, I'm guessing this is because of the collector factor, but before I make the investment, what would you all say about this company?

Also, so far I only see the harrington hardened rollers available for the barrels on Makarov.com, anyone else making them?

One last question, most ppl seem to be recommending a 18.5 lb recoil spring. Is that what you would recommend for my cz 52, and who would you buy it from? (as a side note, in choosing the right spring, I will be shooting mostly wolf HP, but I will be trying out .223 Timbs and Mag Safe rounds, but would like to be able to use regular military ball as well for plinking, but will sacrifice protecting the slide for the reliability of shooting ball ammo if needed to cycle the hotter stuff safely)

Thanks in advance! :)

Admittedly, I know nothing about the CZ52 other than what it looks like and what caliber it fires and that it uses a unique action which enables it to fire higher-pressure submachine gun ammo.

I have ordered from Numrich a few times though and have never had any complaints. If they have what you want I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

i can only agree with what the above poster said, i've ordered "things" from them but not what you're looking for

I've ordered a cleaning rod and Mosin stripper clips from them. They're pretty good. They're probably on a par with Brownells as far as availiability and prices. If it's the only reputable place to go with for your barrel, go for it. I'd pay a few extra bucks rather than deal with a no-name, small-time seller.

I've ordered gun parts from them and am pretty happy. I got the wrong screw once and they send me out the proper one with no hassle. I did get a barrel band once that was a little rustier than I would have liked but it wasn't too bad.

I live within 10 miles of Numrich and have purchased parts from them in the past. They are a reputable company. If they have what you need at a good price, get it, they have been around a long time.

regards,

Luis Leon

great ty all for the information, got my new barrel and safety spring in route :)

now I just need to decide which recoil spring tension I will need to be able to use both ball and high velocity ammo and order it from Makarov.com (unless there is an alternate source with better prices?)

thanks again
