Hi folks,

we're going to be holding our first Appleseed in the Seattle area next month.

Sorry for the short notice, we just got it approved. As soon as it is posted, you can sign up for it. It will be posted here:

http://www.appleseedinfo.org/as_schedule.htm

I'll do my best to check this thread daily and answer any questions you may have.

This will be a full, two-day paid Appleseed at a local private range. It will be fired at 25m, and all calibres are welcome. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Monroe, and 45-50 minutes from downtown Seattle.

There are only 20 spaces on the line, so sign up quickly if you want to come. We'll be doing Appleseeds regularly at this new range but the next one won't be for five or six weeks.

Special Note: Fred, one of the founders of the Appleseed and SGN columnist will be there to instruct.

cheers,
artandscience (my handle on www.appleseedinfo.org if you want to PM me there too).

Things to remember for your Appleseed

Some would say it's the best way to spend $70.

Other things to know:

1) please clean and check your equipment before you show up. I cannot tell you how many malfunctions I've seen 'cause folks didn't clean and oil before firing 500+ rounds.

2) If you have a scope, get down in prone position and check that the eye relief is correct for that position.

3) Get a real Rifleman's sling - either the USGI Web sling or the Springfield 1903 leather sling. Tactical slings have never proved adequate at Appleseeds I've been to.

4) If you wear glasses, wear your contacts for this. Glasses aren't ground properly to shoot in the positions we put you in.

5) Bring your Liberty Training Rifle as well as an MBR. The LTR is much cheaper to shoot and you'll learn everything you need shooting a .22. Lots of information on LTRs here:

Monroe Appleseed

Buckskinner,

Glad to know that you're coming. Please register immediately on the Appleseed site if you haven't so we have a good count.

There is a thread here on the Appleseed site.

Let me know if you have any other questions and introduce yourself when you show up!

cheers,
artandscience (aka Stefan)
