first off, I have a Good Leather Gun belt. I have had it for about 5 years and the dang thing is tough and well built. other then minor visual wear, its as good as day 1.

That said, I have gained weight (the belt was way too big at first, i measured wrong for the order) , now its second to last hole. I'm working on the weight thing but that's another issue and not for this thread.

anyway, my waste has caught up to my butt in width, and there's no, um... self, on my back half. similar to those that are no butt all gut. I assumed i was just stuck dealing with it until i get the weight off. I tried suspenders, but there not for me.

I was watching a holster review on YouTube and the guy mentioned that he had a leather gun belt that would sag on his back side (same as me, plumbers syndrome) and that his 5.11 Trailer belt works great and doesn't fall like the leather one does.

so i'm considering the purchase, but want to see if anyone else has had this experience. with the 5.11 trainer, or the wilderness 5 stitch, which i am even more interested in as it seems to get be the choice of most between the two.

FYI, i'm looking to stay at the 1.5" width.

THEY'RE not for hanging a firearm off of either. Having no butt is more about the pants you wear fitting right though. The belt still holds 'em up. And you'll still not have one if you just quit eating. Riding a bicycle will build your butt muscles, give you the exercise and it ain't walking. snicker.
Leather stretches a bit over time and you can add more holes without need to reinforce said hole if and when your WAIST changes again. Downside is the cost. Mind you, my current self-made belt(haven't bought belts or holsters/mag pouches for eons) is way older than 5 and is still going.
Nylon stretches a bit too, but stops and then stays there. It requires any additional hole to have an eyelet put in or it'll fray. It's not good for gun belts either as it tends to deform if you hang stuff off it.

Sorry Dude. I cant help with your question.
But if you ever do find a belt that works for guys with no butt, please let me know.
In cool weather suspenders work pretty well. In Florida in the summer heat, no thanks.

The Wilderness Instructor belt is a great belt. I'm not willing to say it is better than a quality leather belt, and I'm also not willing to say it will solve your problem. However, the Wilderness Frequent Flyer Belt is currently on sale at 14% off. It is an inexpensive belt and with the sale, it's worth at least giving it a try. I have the 5-stitch version and that's what I'd recommend. Make sure you read the measuring instructions. They may seem odd, but they are accurate.

One word.

Suspenders.

:)

Both. Belt (i prefer instructor style nylon ones) and suspenders......

WalMart carries one similar to this only all dark. I have worn the one for over a year now, really works well for me and it was only $12.00.

I work there, and I seriously looked at it, but they only go up to 42, and it seems more like 38. Too short to wear for me for a gun belt. But yeah, if those fit you, they'd work.

I wear the 5.11 Trainer belt that you are speaking of everyday. I like it. Been using it for about a year. I was super stiff when new. Now it has softened up a little (broken in) but still has plenty of rigidity. It supports my CrossBreed holsters wonderfully.

Sizes are a bit goofy. I forget wich way, if they run big or small, but I ended up returning my first one. Fortunatley one of my LGSs sells them and it was a quick swap.

Try Bullhide Belts on line (Google to find). They make a very thick leather belt with a Velcro fastening system which makes in infinitely adjustable within the size range.

I spent about 15 years with saggy pants. I then tried suspenders and it took 4 years before I found a pair that worked well. The ones I use are combat suspenders and have Velcro loops that go around the belt. Michael Bane in his red stage hunt in New Zealand blog posting describes a pair I will try next. I don't know of any way to get your problem fixed without suspenders. I wish you luck and am reading to,see what other solutions exist.

I have the same problem. After trying an assortment of different belts with little to no success, I finally bit the bullet and got used to suspenders. I prefer the wide 2” ones.
