Rocky only shows a 115gr RN jacketed right now, so I have no idea what bullet you have. Most guns will allow any traditional RN to be out at 1.169". In those instances I load at 1.160 to 1.140" depending on the powder load. Find a load in a manual in that length range and use it.
Hmm. Hornady shows 1.100 for their 115g jacketed RN.
I've settled on 1.126.
Your statement makes me question question my oal now. I tried this on 15 rounds that i was working up, but i just made 20 that are hotter to test tomorrow. Now im second guessing it.
I have loaded Winchester 115 gr FMJ at 1.125" OAL for years with very good results. I won't load 115 gr FMJ or plated bullets any shorter because the sharp pointed nose profile diameter decreases smaller than the diameter of the case neck.
Remove the barrel from your gun and use it for a gage to determine what OAL will work.
With a dummy round, start at max (1.160), and if the case mouth hits the step in the chamber and the case base is flush with the end of the barrel you are good to go.
If it's not flush, turn the seater stem a quarter turn and reseat the same bullet.
Do this until the case is flush with the barrel, and you're done.
You may want to go a little further to account for bullet variation.
Then check for fit in the magazine.
I have had to load some 9mm lead RN to 1.080" for function in some guns.
YMMV
I use 1.135" for berry's 115gr 9mm in my G19. That's with medium powder-loads of WSF and Universal powders. Both feed reliably, as I don't think I've ever had a feed-failure in the ~500 rounds I've loaded since going w/ Berry's.
