I am contacting the product safety commission about the rossi in 357 mag, in my opinion these rifles are totally unsafe, they(most) will not chamber a factory load,I have tried every variation of bullet type and maker and still all of them jam in the cartridge guides and you have to slam the lever and it may or may not chamber.
There are reports all over the net about it.
I know there is a guy in south texas that works on them but why pay $200.00to fix something that is not made correctly.
Someday somewhere the primer is going to be hit just right and WHAM!
Maybe the PSC can force a recall.
By the way I did contact braztech and they just shrug it off.

ok... calm down... i know you're frustrated but can you give a bit more detail? most levers like to be treated a little rough when new and the '92 in particular from my experience.
i take it the gun is brand new and it may be a little tight. try working the action (unloaded) a couple hundred times.
have you tried other ammo?
what ammo have you tried so far?

edit: that you have tried other ammo types that rules that out. is the round getting hung up on the carriage somehow?

The carrier puts the cartridge on the correct angle but the bolt catches the rim too high and pushes the nose of the round higher and causes the round to jam upward traping it between the chamber and the bolt.
If I tilt the rifle on its left side while chambering a round it goes a lot smoother but you have to jack the lever pretty hard.
38spl works a little better but still nothing to brag about.
I have others rossi's in 45 colt and 44mag they function very well.

I have a Rossi in .357. Now that I have 1000 or so rounds through it, it's pretty slick. I don't have any trouble feeding the 158gr SWCs that I load.

Mine is only about a month old and has eaten about (300) .357-158 gr SWC's like candy. My son wants to know why we didn't get a lever action sooner. Your rifle goes to prove that every now and then a lemon gets out. There are several sites that detail tuning for feeding issues.

I have two in .44Mag and both are slick with everything I have fed them, about 1000 rounds through each now. 200-270gr bullets in pretty much all the different configurations; JHP, JSP, LSWC, RNFP.

I have heard the complaints about the .357 mags guns. Some run fine, others hang up. I would seriously contact Steve Young at Steves Gunz and see if he can point you in the right direction to get it fixed or help you fix it yourself.

I know plenty of people say this and are joking, but it really sounds like you do NOT want this rifle, so I have to take a chance here and say that if you don't want it I will gladly take it off your hands rather than your throwing it away.
