I have a CZ Rehead Deluxe in 20 gauge which I bought about 8 or 9 years ago. They are very nice guns for the money.

I have a Turkish Tri-star that I've used for several years and taken several pheasants with. I've been happy with it. I paid somewhere around $600 for it.

Have had several SKBs, both O/U and SxS, and always liked them. Prefer them to the Citori.

The older Japanese SKBs were good guns; but like the Brownings, tended to be a tad on the heavier side for a field gun; my 505 with 26" barrels in 20 gauge was closer to 7 pounds than it was to my preferred 6.

Are there any lower cost O/U 20 gauges that you folks recommend. I was...
...The shotgun will be used for upland game hunting.

That's why I'm looking for a lower cost option, so he can buy his own.

CZs are heavy
Stoegers are LOG heavy bricks
SKB? Starting to get towards the OP's requirement re: lower-cost, but alas, again... heavy (7lbs 10oz)

Lugging that extra 1-2lbs around for a few hours in the field and for why?

Give a look to the Tristar TT-15 O/U series and so many others are voting the same I guess, try finding one!!

Slightly over 6lbs, chrome lined chamber & bore, five extended choke tubes, better then decent wood for a $775 out-the-door gun

Good luck !

I got to handle one in a store last week. It was marked $500.00. The gun fit me, seemed to swing and point nicely, and had a very smooth action - no binding. It also came with several chokes. I'm wondering if I let that one get away....

I have a passion for O/U shotguns. At one time I owned 7 of them, but finally weeded out the ones that I didn't use. I kept a Beretta BL-3 20ga that I had a custom choke job done by Ballistics Specialties and a Verona 501 2 bbl set 28ga and 410. I am looking for a cheaper gun in 12ga and have about decided on the Pointer that Legacy imports. The Acrius has very good reviews and can be had for less than $500. I have received a few different models for customers and the ATI Cavalry would be another consideration.

Look at the models made by AKUS from Turkey; they are basically the high end of Turkish makers

My grandson has taken over my Beretta 686 20 gauge field model. I paid $1200 for it many years ago. Are there any lower cost O/U 20 gauges that you folks recommend. I was looking at the Stoeger condor, reviews weren't very good. The shotgun will be used for upland game hunting. Thanks
I bought a Yildiz (Turkish) 20 ga. O/U from Academy sports a few years back as a birthday gift to me. Primarily for doves. It's been a great gun. Super lightweight, tight and affordable. Looks darn good too.

I have to apologize for the Ignorance on my part. I ordered a Pointer Arista 12 ga to review and I am not impressed. First of all. I had to make adjustments before the forearm would lock onto the barrels. Wood finish is not to my taste although the wood to metal fit is pretty good. The pistol grip has too much wood. I like a small grip like my 20ga Beretta. The gun just doesn't fit me. Maybe the smaller gauges are sized differently, but the 12ga is going to the next gun show.

Weatherby Orion is really nicely built. I'm not sure which Turkish company builds them, but like many of the other Turkish built over-under I've seen in the past few years, it's nicely built.
